Partnerships

The American Society of Hematology—A partnership between the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the AIMFD has been established to address the shortage of scholars with academic and research appointments in the field of hematology who reflect and serve all communities.  The criteria and application process for the ASH-AIMFD are identical to those for the AIMFD and awardees and their mentors have the same obligations and benefits.

ASH also sponsors two programs intended for those earlier in their research careers.  The HIP Medical Student Award Program is structured around an 8- to 12-week research experience for students from the United States, Canada, and Mexico in their early years of medical school and designed to introduce medical students to hematology and hematology research. The HIP Resident Award offers a unique opportunity for first- and second-year medical residents to get exposure to the field of hematology and conduct hands-on research under the guidance of an ASH member and research mentor.

The American Society of Nephrology—A partnership between the American Society of Nephrology (ASN) and the AIMFD has been established to address the shortage of scholars with academic and research appointments in the field of nephrology who reflect and serve all communities.  The criteria and application process for the ASN-AIMFD are identical to those for the AIMFD and awardees and their mentors have the same obligations and benefits. The American Heart Association—A partnership between the American Heart Association (AHA) and the AIMFD has been established to address the shortage of scholars with academic and research appointments in the fields of cardiology and stroke who reflect and serve all communities.  The criteria and application process for the AHA-AIMFD were identical to those for the AIMFD, and Scholars and their mentors have the same obligations and benefits. A partnership between a consortium of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), the American Lung Association, the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST) and the AIMFD has been established to address the shortage of scholars with academic and research appointments in the field of pulmonary and critical care medicine who reflect and serve all communities. The criteria and application process for the American Thoracic Society/American Lung Association/American College of Chest Physicians-AIMFD are identical to those for the AIMFD.  Scholars and their mentors have the same obligations and benefits.  For more information, please contact the National Program Office.

The American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases—A partnership between the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and the AIMFD has been established to address the shortage of scholars with academic and research appointments in the field of hepatology who reflect and serve all communities. The criteria and application process for the AASLD-AIMFD are identical to those for the AIMFD, and Scholars and their mentors have the same obligations and benefits. A partnership between the Consortium of Professional Providers (CPP) and the AIMFID has been established to assist the AIMFD in carrying out its mission of promoting life success. The CPP is a collaborative network of professionals including financial advisors, wealth managers, attorneys, insurance agents, and more who are dedicated to closing the wealth gap and helping medical professionals and their families in their endeavors to secure a prosperous future.

Through this partnership the CPP provides AIMFD, their alumni and scholars, and their affiliated organizations with streamlined access to customized financial solutions and offers premium services and products at exclusive pricing.

A partnership between Thriving Doctors and AIMFD has been established to assist the AIMFD in carrying out its mission of helping scholars and alumni break through burnout—and move toward an empowered, purpose-driven life.
